Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down and a Little Kiss n' Tell

Every now and then I find a product that actually works!  Ha!  Think about that :D  Well, I've been on a LONG search for the "right" mascara and I think I actually found it!

I am of the rare kind of girl that has no lashes to speak of.  While I do appreciate a thicker lash, I actually NEED to have evidence of a lash to actually make thick!  This mascara does the trick!  It actually handles both needs (a rare find indeed).  It's a "thumbs up" and I'm sold!

I am a "wear your heart on your sleeve" kinda gal, so it's waterproof for me all the way!

Now, for all you photog geeks out there.... I thought I'd throw in a little "kiss n' tell" for you and show you my EXPENSIVE and TIME-CONSUMING set up ;)

Shot with my 5D, 50mm, f/2.8, 1/1000, ISO 500, Aperture Priority (evaluative metering), +1 exposure compensation (yes, I wanted a quick shot and spaced changing my ISO.  I didn't need such high settings but oh well).  I took the original shot, cropped it, adjusted the exposure since it was a tad underexposed (even with +1!), did a little bump to the colors and voila! 

Here's the fun part... the set-up :D  I created my own soft box out of an old cardboard box (free), a white plastic table cloth ($1), and some poster board, curving up from the back for a seamless finish ($.50?).  Much less expensive than those pricey ones you can buy!  I love those words... "less expensive" :D

So, getting that "magazine" quality look for your product can be pretty easy, and not pricey :)  If you ebay stuff or etsy stuff this will help you get much better shots for your.... stuff :)
