Walk with God: Honor
I know I normally post my "Walk with God" series on Mondays, but I wanted to put a special one out there today.
I'm not normally a fan of "selective color". It needs to be used "selectively", haha, and very minimally! Trust me, I tried my hand at it when I first started in photography (thought it was so cool) and now, something about an all black and white image starring at you with BRIGHT, ELECTRIC blue eyes just doesn't do a person justice, it's just... creepy. ;)
Well, I really felt this image needed selective color to force the one viewing it (yes, that would be you) to only notice the pink.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I wanted to post something that would honor those that lost the battle, are still fighting the battle, and may still have a battle yet to come.
We lost my Grandmother and my Aunt (both on my mom's side) to breast cancer. My mother, she was diagnosed two years ago this month. It was incredibly frightening going into the hospital with her the day of her surgery. So many emotions that I won't even try to go into here. The interesting thing, since it was Breast Cancer Awarness Month, there were little pink ribbons everywhere. What solace there was in knowing we weren't alone. And we weren't forgotten. It was a frightening journey, but she's doing great and that is BEYOND precious to me. So...

This rose is for my Grandmother. It is for my Aunt. This rose is for my friend Willa and my friend Carol. It's for my friend Kim's mother and this rose is for my mom.
It is for everyone that has ever had breast cancer affect their lives. In one way, or another.
I pray that through this rose, Jesus touches you with a peace and joy that gives you comfort
in a way that you've never experienced before.
No matter what you are going through at this moment, remember one thing...
You are never alone. And you haven't been forgotten.
